My good friend Dee surprised me with an early B-day present. It all started in 2004 when I spent a summer at Kennedy Space Center. While at KSC I picked up mission patches starting with Mercury and ending with Challenger’s last mission. I knew I wanted to make a quilt but didn’t have the equipment or skills to put it together. Dee volunteered for the job. Here is my beautiful quilt. My father worked for NASA from Gemini through Apollo 13 and you all know I tried to become an astronaut.
What Dee didn’t tell me was she also added patches to the back. Both of us are Star Trek fans and she went and found different patches including Starfleet Academy. I love it!
