Zip-lining in Costa Rica
Jan 2nd, 2009 | By Admin | Category: TravelOne of the fun things to do in Costa Rica is to visit the Cloud Forest of Monteverde and go zip-lining with your friends. My GAP gang got up early and headed out. It was an absolutely gorgeous day. After we got all geared up (harness, helmet, and gloves) we set out for our first zip-line.
Of course none of us new what we were doing so we had a quick tutorial on what to do and what not to do when zip-lining. The guides were knowledgeable and helpful. The most important part is remembering where to put your hands and how to break.

Now it was our turn. I, of course, chose to go at the end of the line so i could get a better understanding of how it all works.

The guide saw me video tapping and offered to go with me down the long zip-line allowing me to video tape along the way. This will give you a good idea of what it feels like to go zip-lining and the height at which it is done. Hang on…here we goooooooooo………..

One of the activities included in with zip-lining was the Tarzan Swing. Verena, by far, had the best scream and is featured below on the swing. The swing was way more terrifying then zip-lining.

After zip-lining was done we went on a nice relaxing walk through the rain forest. It was beautiful and fun and the best part was crossing the suspension bridges. If you don’t like heights then this may be even more difficult then zip-lining. You walk across the bridge and can look down at the rain forest below you….totally wicked!!!
As I trampled through the rain forest I kept a keen eye looking for birds, snakes, frogs, monkeys, etc. However, the only creature I saw all day long (besides fellow humans) was a lizard hanging out in the parking lot. Shew before you get run over!!!
